Hi, I'm Jason Sandoval. I live in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I've lived here about 10 years, before that my home was Minnesota. Any guesses why I now live in FL ??? Here is a clue, I have always loved the ocean and sharks. That's right, not much of either in MN. Well, I started collecting shark Jaws and teeth about 8 years ago, and all sorts of fossils about 7. Other fossils just seem to fall into place when you are looking for fossil shark teeth. Indian artifacts have just come into play for me since I met Kim ( my future wife ) about 2 years ago. Still my main interest is sharks, but I never pass up the opportunity to hunt for anything.
I am a big shark enthusiast. I truly love these creatures and understand the vital role they play in our oceans and seas. I also understand they are a major source of food in many countries. These countries are where we acquire our Modern Jaws from. The fisherman use the shark meat for food, fins for soup, cartilage for medicine. The sharks' skin is stronger than leather and perfect for products like purses, wallets, boots, jackets, etc. So, basically the jaws are the only byproduct. So, by us acquiring them almost the entire shark is used. I strongly disagree with anyone catching a shark just for its jaw. If all you want is a trophy, catch the shark and take a picture. If you want a Shark Jaw, BUY it from me. Help protect the sharks we have left.
The Modern jaws I collect are used for scientific research, educational purposes, decoration, and a means of paying bills. he he !! I have given speeches on sharks to children and adults, the jaws help bring it home. When you just talk about a shark people are interested, but when you can also show the many varieties of jaws and teeth everyone feels a different sense of awareness and interest. When people understand that sharks are not out to hunt them down once they enter the water, but are there to live their own lives and actually help keep our waters clean, many people as I want to help protect them.
I am also a avid diver, which helps a lot in finding Fossils. Rivers are a great place to find fossils and artifacts. The past few years I have started diving Rivers here in Florida and Georgia. And WOW !!! the things there are to find. Between the things I have found and learned about, and the fantastic things my new family and friends have found I thought I would build this website. My goal is to help educate anyone who wants to learn about Sharks, Fossils and Indian Artifacts through pictures in my different galleries, links to various other sites, and in items for sale. I also have a helpful hints page. This may help with some of your unanswered questions. I will try hard to deliver the best quality items for sale and give correct and accurate information in my identification galleries. Thank you for looking at my site. I hope you enjoy. Feel free to ask questions or give suggestions on things you want to see on this site. If you're looking for a specific shark jaw or shark related item I may be able to help you find it. Thanks again, Jason
